Our Personal Experience with Beltway Paving
In September of 2007 Beltway Paving of Waldorf, Maryland was
hired to pave the driveway of our new home. By April of 2008, only 7
months later, the driveway had sunk and cracked in over 10 places. Beltway
Paving was contacted at this time to discuss rectifying the situation
and providing a resolution. Now over a year later they have told us
to contact our lawyer to get resolve.
Below are the current pictures and descriptions of the driveway at our new home.

Our driveway is a circle and these pictures are taken directly in front of our house. This ditch is over 4 inches deep in some places, over 2 feet across and spans the entire width of the driveway. As you can see we had to fill it with gravel so that we could drive across it.

This is the other side of our driveway behind the garage. This is another place where the driveway has sunk. It spans the entire width of the driveway and as you can see it holds water.

This is directly in front of one of our garage doors. As you can see the driveway has sunk over an inch where we pull in and out of the garage. It is also starting to sink away from the garage concrete slab as you can see at the top.
This is a picture of our driveway at the top when you first pull in. This crack is nearly 3 ft across.
We built our own house, and we hired all of the contractors. We asked our contractors for their best judgment and advice in all of our decisions. Beltway Paving was no exception. They quoted us a price of $6,970.00 to pave and fine grade our driveway. We agreed and took relief in dealing with a company that had been in business since 1966. After further inspection, it was suggested by Beltway Paving that we have 2 loads of gravel brought in. This would be an extra $800 added to the original estimate. We took their advice and gladly paid the extra $800, understanding this would help ensure the longevity of the driveway. As you can see by the pictures above, the driveway is in bad shape. Beltway Paving has been contacted many times to resolve this issue, and has yet to provide a resolution to the problem.
We are currently in the process of hiring another paving company to correct the problems with our driveway.
